Mark: I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about our
annual fishing trip to the East Cape of Baja California. We arrived
there on Oct 5th and fished both trolling and live bait fishing
for yellow fin tuna, Dorado (Mahi) and on occasion billfish. We
anticipated some changes due to a hurricane that skipped by a
few days prior and there were some. The first day out, we were
approx 30 miles out ( using your lures) and I picked up a sailfish
on 50lb test that went 110 lbs and was released. About 2 hours
later after celebrating with a couple of beers. Tim McCauley and
Bob Jungkind got a simultaneous hook up on 2 more very large sails….
A heck of a day but no tuna. Day 2, we went south to the Gordo
Banks and scored on 7 tuna in the 40 lb range which was super,
with 2 taken on your lures and the rest on Squid…. another
good day. Day 3, brought super weather and we went due east for
35 miles, I caught another sail on light tackle with your smaller,
5" blue bullet lure and Tim got a striped marlin going for
awhile before he spit the lure. Things got quiet until the about
11:30 then we hit big Ahi, over 50 lbs and things were pretty
crazy for awhile. The Capt and deckhand were leery of lures they
had never seen before, but their performance proved themselves.
We're looking forward to next season here in San Diego and are
planning a trip on my boat to Tuna Alley near Isla Cedros or Guadalupe
Island and the various banks in our waters. The lures a very interesting
and we look forward to their continued use, thanks for letting
us test them out on our annual trip.
Best Regards
Ron G
